In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sequels have been opportunity to keep super-sizing their movies (see the nearly bloated cast of the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War“) and if these latest rumors have any weight, for their Netflix hit “Daredevil,” they are also looking to step things up.
Latino Review says that according to their source, Marvel‘s TV unit is seeking out Jason Statham to play baddie Bullseye in the second season of the show. Apparently the actor may have already had a meeting about it. But whether or not Marvel’s wishes pan out is a whole other matter. The site also says the villain factor is going to be quite large in the next round of “Daredevil” with Mr. Fear, Mysterio and Elektra (who becomes Matt Murdock’s love interest) all slated to appear.
Confirmation will likely come soon as production is set to begin within weeks, but I’m not sure I buy Statham going to a Marvel TV show. He still has a healthy big screen career and this could be viewed as a step backward. But taking on a role in a Marvel movie? I see that as much more viable option. But stranger things have happened, and he’s not a bad choice for the part. Let us know what you think below.
