As the comic book craze shifts into the next gear, making them as big as possible is the name the game. Marvel‘s “Captain America: Civil War” has so many characters slated to appear it might as well be another Avengers movie, while “Avengers: Infinity War” is going to be so massive it’ll be split into two parts. Meanwhile, the folks at Warner Bros. are also planning a two-part “Justice League” movie, with next year’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” also introducing a host of characters. And not to be left behind, Fox is looking to join the glut.
Latino Review reports that an “X-Men“/”Fantastic Four” crossover movie could be on the books for the studio’s still undisclosed movie slated for July 13, 2018 but there are some factors involved. Mostly, the big one is that this summer’s “Fantastic Four” has to do well enough to justify not only the sequel, but a crossover movie that would presumably include the folks from “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
So chalk this up as a big maybe, but it makes sense why Fox wants to join the comic book arms race. But let’s hope these movies know how to handle the bloat.
