“We’re always waiting to be entertained by the next thing — what is bigger, better, and faster? I felt like we ultimately made a movie about ‘Jurassic Park IV.’ It is the indominus rex!” director Colin Trevorrow observed about the themes of his upcoming “Jurassic World” in an interview with The Independent. “Why would you make another sequel to one of these movies? It’s a horrible mistake. Well, because there’s a lot of money on the table. Why would you rebuild a park? We re-make our mistakes because somebody somewhere is going to make a lot of money.”
While we’ve have to wait until next week to see if Trevorrow’s film represents hubristic folly or successful ambition, what is clear is that everyone wants to see the movie. The projected opening is said to be $100 million, and Universal wants to make sure they are giving this movie all the marketing attention they can. So one final trailer has arrived, showing how an idea for a new attraction hatches into something beyond anyone’s control.
“Jurassic World” arrives on June 12th.
