While the concept of slick, well dressed and accomplished spies has tended to be the domain of James Bond for five decades, this year he won’t be alone in providing sartorially impeccable action. Warner Bros. is bringing its long developing reboot of the TV series “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” to the big screen, and a new trailer has landed today.
Superman, the Winklevoss twins, Ava, and Jordan Baker —Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Debicki— star in the Guy Ritchie movie that sees CIA and KGB agents teaming up to rescue a kidnapped East German mechanic from a shadowy criminal organization. And yes, that old school plot is entirely the point. “What we’re trying to capture are iconic memories of the East-meets-West scenario,” Ritchie told EW. “Getting over the Wall is part of that world.”
“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” opens on August 14th. Watch below.
