So apparently Tina Fey and Amy Schumer made out on stage at the Peabody Awards last night. We haven’t actually seen footage, but we can only assume given the feminist comic masterminds involved that this was not some faux lesbian cry for attention but, you know, a comedic statement of sorts?
Either way, though, a few strange YouTube channels (Hollywood Scanner, anyone?) have jumped on the news despite not having any actual footage and quickly cranked out these awful YouTube clips that just basically take the two photos out of there of the kiss and drag them out into 90 seconds of misinterpretation and mispronunciation. We genuinely hope somewhere Amy and Tina are watching them and laughing out loud hysterically.
The first opens by mistaking Amy for David Schwimmer’s sister — “it seems Tina Fey gave Amy Schwimmer an extra friendly congratulations” — before going on to hilariously describe the kiss in “Fifty Shades of Grey”-like detail: “The women started off with a light peck at a respectable distance before transitioning into what resembled a passionate makeout session.” It keeps going from there but we don’t want to spoil it. And definitely wait for the Julia-Louis Day-fruss cameo toward the end.
The second video, meanwhile, oddly uses much of the exact same description (word for word) of the Tina-Amy kiss, but opens with its own take — describing it as “hot lesbian action.” Which is surely exactly what the two women were going for.
