First there was “The Spoils Of Babylon,” IFC‘s miniseries soap opera parody that brought together a ton of big stars (Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Tobey Maguire, Tim Robbins, Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer) for one big goof. Now, the creative team behind that is back with “The Spoils Before Dying,” and the first trailer for this mystery riff is here.
Michael K. Williams leads the effort with Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Haley Joel Osment (all three appeared in ‘Babylon’), Maya Rudolph, Michael Sheen, Kate McKinnon, Tim Meadows, and Chris Parnell joining in the fun that follows a jazz musician who discovers his lover and another man dead. And it gets pretty surreal from there. “It was the weirdest world to be in. There was just no up, no down,” Williams told EW. “[My character] wakes up and the love of his life is dead, and he’s being accused of having murdered her, and he can’t remember anything because he’d drunk himself into a stupor the night before. That’s some pretty creepy sh– if you think about it, you know?”
Get a taste of how odd things get below, and look out for “The Spoils Before Dying” on IFC later this year.
