So says Colin Farrell in one of two new “True Detective” TV spots for the highly-anticipated return of Nic Pizzolatto’s anthology crime series. Judgment is well on its way, too, as we’re only two weeks away from the premiere of Season 2. Reviews should start rolling in before that, but everyone will try on the critic’s hat come June 21.

Keeping with the spirit of the first few trailers, the new footage is sparse on details and heavy on “cool.” Fires are lit. Fights are started. But no major plot details are leaked. The most notable takeaway from the first trailer (shown above) is that Colin Farrell’s character, Ray Velcoro, is seen without his (fantastic) mustache. Does that indicate a time jump in the story, a la Matthew McConaughy’s much more extreme hair (and body) changes in Season 1? Or did Farrell’s cop ‘stache just get itchy?
The second trailer is even lighter on details, as it’s another dialogue-free entry from HBO. Take a look at both trailers, and keep checking Indiewire for more “True Detective” news as Season 2 approaches. “True Detective” returns June 21 at 9pm on HBO.
