A Teenage Boy Learns About Love the Hard Way in 'Jon & the Wolf'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Jon & the Wolf

Logline: When you’re 15, falling for an older girl is harder than heavy metal.

Elevator Pitch: “Jon & the Wolf” is a film about Jon, a 15-year-old outcast who becomes obsessed with Michelle, his beautiful 22-year-old guitar teacher, and gets a little crazy as he tries to win her love. The power a broken heart has over creating great music and the power music has to mend a broken heart is at the core of this coming-of-age tale that mixes reality and fantasy in order to tell a powerful, yet comedic story. “Jon & The Wolf” is for anyone that’s had a crush, a dream and got through their adolescence with the help of some great music.

Production Team:

Brian Lerner: Co-writer/Producer
Ryan Maples: Co-writer/Director

About the Film: Initially inspired by Brian’s real experience taking guitar lessons as a teenager, this film came from a shared love of film and music and the power of both. The story captures the power of music in one’s life. Not just music as music, but music as emotion; as that rare form of art that can describe the indescribable. The indescribable feeling we want to capture with “Jon & the Wolf” is that of first love, first crush and first heartbreak and how oh so often they can be intertwined.

Current Status: Raising funds and planning to shoot in the fall.
