BOOM! A Film About The Sonics

Logline: “BOOM!” The wild story of one of rock and rolls most influential and infamous bands: The Sonics.

Elevator Pitch: Produced with the full cooperation of the band, “BOOM! A Film About The Sonics” will tell the story of the incredible band The Sonics. From their humble beginnings out of a living room in 1963 Tacoma, Washington (occasionally with mom on guitar!); to signing with Etiquette Records and releasing their now-legendary debut LP “Here Are The Sonics;” to their disastrous third effort, “Introducing the Sonics,” the failure of which essentially lead to the band’s breakup. separate ways, only to reunite in 2007, resulting in the reunion no one saw coming.

Production Team:

Producer/Director – Jordan Albertsen (“The Standard”)
Producer – Brian Scott Robinson
Director of Photography – Chris Koser

About the Film: To make a film about the history of The Sonics is a daunting task. It’s a big, epic story with twists and turns that include a lot of people. We want to make a film that upholds the legacy of this great band and introduces a whole new generation to the earth-shattering music that helped shape the history of what was to come. This film is going to be big, bold and badass — just like the band.

Current Status: After 7 years of prep, legal wrangling and a tour through Europe, we finally launched our IndieGoGo page.
