HBO Remembers Late Producer Jerry Weintraub This Weekend

HBO will remember Jerry Weintraub this Sunday, July 12 with a double bill of the documentary “His Way” (2011) and Steven Soderbergh’s Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra” (2013), which Weintraub, who died Monday at 77, executive-produced.

“His Way” chronicles the Hollywood trailblazer’s five-decade career as a producer and talent manager, rising from Brooklyn roots into the entertainment industry, promoting Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, and producing films for Steven Soderbergh along the way including the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise.

Weintraub executive-produced “Behind the Candelabra,” which nabbed HBO 11 Emmys including Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Lead Actor, Michael Douglas, who plays the flamboyant Liberace opposite Matt Damon as his live-in lover Scott Thorson.

“His Way” screens on HBO Signature at 5:00pm, with “Behind the Candelabra” following at 6:30pm. Read Anne Thompson’s Weintraub obit here.
