“The Omen,” the 1976 classic horror film that imagines an ambassador’s son as the antichrist, is getting a sequel on A&E.
First shown at Comic-Con, the above trailer introduces the premise of the show: Damien, the son in question, is now an adult, somehow still ignorant of his devilish nature, but soon will discover his true identity. The series promises eerie flashbacks in addition to the over-the-top, intense horror elements expected from a show produced by Glen Mazzara of “The Walking Dead.”
Hopefully, “Damien” will be better than the classic film’s 2006 remake of the same name. No premiere date has been announced yet, but 10 episodes have been ordered up by A&E.
