Fans hungering for more zombie action after the dramatic Season 5 conclusion of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” can rest easy. The debut spinoff show “Fear the Walking Dead” is nearing, created by “Walking Dead” comic book writer Robert Kirkman. Unfortunately, it seems “Fear” is coming towards us at the shuffling, slumped pace of a flesh-eater. To promote the series, AMC has been releasing a number of teasers lacking any substantial information whatsoever, other than letting us know that the walkers are coming.
The show takes place in Los Angeles at the beginning of the outbreak and focuses on Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey as a family attempting to survive the apocalypse. The numerous teasers feature unsuspecting skaters, soccer moms, sun tanners and a hint that many kids have gone home from school sick. If you were hoping for a one-second glimpse of a zombie that is not fully on camera, these trailers are for you.
Hopefully an actual trailer — even the longer versions are pretty subpar — will be released at AMC’s upcoming Comic Con panel, scheduled for Friday afternoon, but for now we must settle for what we can get our hands on. The show is set to debut in August. Watch the teasers above and below.
