The “Broad City” series regular and “Eric Andre Show” co-host will be hosting his own show, “Why? With Hannibal Buress” on Comedy Central premiering July 8th. However, Buress didn’t put all his eggs in one basket, choosing to “secretly” audition for the part of Jon Stewart’s successor on “The Daily Show.”

In the video above, the popular comedian is shocked to discover “The Daily Show” does, in fact, air every day, but he rallies in time for his “moment of Ben,” which…well, just watch the video above. Buress’ valiant effort is something to behold, as his new format would have certainly taken many viewers by surprise had he actually been chosen to replace Stewart.

“Why? With Hannibal Buress” is set to premiere July 8 on Comedy Central.
