A man miraculously recovers from a fatal car crash in “90 Minutes in Heaven,” the spiritual drama from director Michael Polish.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “’90 Minutes in Heaven’ is the stirring story of Don Piper (played by Hayden Christensen) who died on January 18, 1989, when a semi-tractor truck crushed his car. Declared dead by the first rescue workers, Don’s body lay under a tarp for the next 90 minutes. Yet, when a pastor’s prayers helps bring Don back to life, he becomes a living miracle. After experiencing heaven, Don returns to face severe physical, emotional and spiritual challenges.”
The debut trailer for “90 Minutes in Heaven” doesn’t include many surprises. Featuring a swooning score and familiar faces in co-stars Michael W. Smith and Kate Bosworth, this two-minute excerpt of the film hints at an optimistic message for the faith-driven crowd: “Hope lives.”
