It seems Pixar can take any impossible sounding idea and turn it into critically acclaimed, box office gold. Set an entire movie inside a girl’s head with her emotions as the main character? “Inside Out” has earned $490 million worldwide and counting, so you do the math. And with “Jurassic World” making a billion dollars, “The Good Dinosaur” should be a slam dunk with audiences looking for more dinos at the movies.
Featuring the voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, AJ Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright, the movie is a creationists fantasy that imagines what the world might be like if dinosaurs weren’t wiped up and evolved alongside humans. Here’s the official synopsis:
“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
“The Good Dinosaur” opens on November 25th. And the song in the trailer is “Crystals” by Of Monsters And Men.
