READ MORE: Berlin Review: Katherine Waterston and Elisabeth Moss Triumph in Alex Ross Perry’s ‘Queen of Earth’
IFC Films is gearing up for the late August release of writer-director Alex Ross Perry’s “Queen of Earth” with an ominous, old-school trailer full of teases into the film’s psychological madness. “Mad Men” Emmy nominee Elisabeth Moss stars opposite Katherine Waterston, Patrick Fugit and Kentucker Audley.
Moss stars as Catharine, a woman facing an emotional collapse who heads to her best friend’s secluded lake house in order for some much needed exile. Tagging along is the friend, Victoria (Waterston), though it doesn’t take long for their quiet vacation to dissolve into a hysteria that threatens to destroy their relationship and Catharine’s sanity.
The films hits theaters and iTunes on August 26. Above you can watch the trailer, which gives the film the delightfully odd tone of a B-movie psycho-thriller.
