Amazon Prime Announces Collaboration with Open Road Films

Amazon Prime has announced a collaboration with U.S. film distribution company Open Road Films. Beginning with their 2016 film slate, Open Road Films will make Amazon Prime the exclusive non-cable premium subscription home for their theatrical releases.

Prime members will be able to access these films through the Amazon Instant Video app for TVs, connected devices and mobile devices, as well as online at Amazon.com/PIV starting in 2017. Watching these films will be included in the price of membership at no additional cost.

Some Open Road Films titles that will hit Prime include the Marlon Wayans comedy “Fifty Shades of Black,” the Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy “Mother’s Day,” the Jamie Foxx thriller “Sleepless Night” and the Miles Teller drama “Bleed For This.”
