READ MORE: Watch: Bill Murray is Ditched By Zooey Deschanel in ‘Rock the Kasbah’ Trailer
Bill Murray’s new film, “Rock the Kasbah,” has dropped a second trailer, delving a little deeper into the stumbling antics of a
down-on-his-luck talent scout and his quest to turn a Pashtun teenager
into the next “Afghan Star.”
Murray plays has-been rock manager Richie Lanz, who travels
to Kabul with his last remaining client (Zooey Deschanel) but finds himself
dumped and stranded in a foreign country when she skips out on him. Richie soon
discovers an incredibly talented local teenager with the audacious dream of
becoming the first woman to compete on national television in Afghanistan’s
version of “American Idol.”
Richie teams with a street smart hooker (Kate Hudson), two raucous war profiteers (Danny McBride and Scott Caan) and a trigger-friendly mercenary (Bruce Willis) to face dangerous cultural prejudices in managing his new protégée into becoming a world renowned singer.
Directed by Barry Levinson and written by Mitch Glazer,
“Rock the Kasbah” is set to hit theaters October 23. Take a look at the trailer above, via
