Taylor Swift has been performing at the Staples Center for weeks now (okay, just days — but our Facebook feeds have made it felt that way), bringing along tons of high profile guests: Kobe Bryant, Ellen DeGeneres, Selena Gomez, Beck, Chris Rock, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Alanis Morissette and Natalie Maines have all made appearances. But that was all topped last night when Swift brought Lisa Kudrow on stage in character as Phoebe Buffay.
“She’s only ever played in coffee houses before. She’s never played in a big venue like this,” Swift teased.
Kudrow and Swift then went on to perform the “Friends” classic “Smelly Cat,” with Kudrow even interrupting Swift mid-song to say “you have to really feel the lyrics” — a reference to the “Friends” episode where Chrissie Hynde showed up and sang the song.
