Watch: New U.S. Trailer For Paolo Sorrentino's 'Youth' With Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, And Paul Dano

As he proved with his Academy Award-winning “The Great Beauty,” Paolo Sorrentino certainly knows his way around stunning images, and once again he shows a knack for framing in his upcoming “Youth.” After a big debut at the Cannes this spring, the movie is headed to festivals and cinemas this fall, and a new trailer has arrived for the picture.

Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, and Paul Dano star in the movie about two elderly best pals — a composer and a filmmaker — who vacation in the Swiss Alps and reflect on the past while facing their future. Here’s the official synopsis:

From Paolo Sorrentino, the director of Italy’s Oscar foreign language winner THE GREAT BEAUTY comes YOUTH, about two longtime friends vacationing in the Swiss Alps. Oscar winning actor Michael Caine plays Fred, an acclaimed composer and conductor, who brings along his daughter (Rachel Weisz) and best friend Mick (Harvey Keitel), a renowned filmmaker. While Mick scrambles to finish the screenplay for what he imagines will be his last important film, Fred has no intention of resuming his musical career. The two men reflect on their past, each finding that some of the most important experiences can come later in life.

We had mixed feelings about “Youth” on the Croisette, but you can see for yourself when the film opens on December 4th. Watch below. And also check out the first image of Jude Law in Sorrentino’s upcoming HBO series “The Young Pope.”
