So we were going through the TIFF schedule to try and cram in as many of the astounding amount of LGBT films as possible when we noticed something a little odd: Roland Emmerich’s "Stonewall" isn’t officially screening — for the public or the press — until Friday, September 18th.
That can’t be good, right? Why would TIFF wait to screen it until the vast majority of out-of-town (read: American) press are gone? At least do a press screening earlier in the week?
Time will tell… September 18th is only two weeks away, and "Stonewall" opens a week after that. We still have tiny morals of hope that all the red flags facing the film will somehow have gone unwarranted, but this is a new, big one to add to the parade.
