In what seems like some damage control, Roadside Attractions has offered a clip from "Stonewall" that spotlights real-life activist Marsha P. Johnson (played in the film by Otoja Abit). This comes less a week before the film makes its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, and after a month or so of controversy suggesting the film whitewashed the true story of Stonewall — including Johnson’s involvement. Many claim she threw the first brick at the Stonewall riots, but the film allegedly gives that honor to a fictional white cisgender gay male…
