The TV Academy is a fickle bunch, Sure, the new rules set in place for 2015 may have effected the results somewhat, but who’s to say with any certainty the same winners wouldn’t have been reported had things remained the same? Maybe Jonathan Banks still would have been defeated by Peter Dinklage. Perhaps Regina King would have always topped Sarah Paulson. There’s no evidence to support an Amy Poehler victory in any scenario, given the Academy’s (unjust) dismissal of “Parks and Recreation” these past seven years. And, of course, 2015 may have just been “Game of Thrones'” time.
That doesn’t mean we have to like it. On this week’s episode of Very Good TV Podcast, Indiewire TV Editor Liz Shannon Miller and TV Critic Ben Travers discuss the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in all its iterations. Breaking down everything from why so-and-so beat so-and-so to grading the ceremony itself, the avid TV fans share their own take on a night where history was made, for better, worse and outstanding.
