Showing even more confidence in the series, Starz has announced that the cable TV network has renewed “Survivor’s Remorse,” from Executive Producer LeBron James, for a 3rd season.
Currently on its second season, which premiered on August 22, the half-hour dramedy series follows Cam Calloway, played by Jessie T. Usher, a basketball phenom in his early 20’s who is suddenly thrust into the limelight after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a professional basketball team in Atlanta. Cam, along with his cousin and confidant Reggie Vaughn, played by RonReaco Lee, move to Georgia to start Cam’s journey to success. The two confront the challenges of carrying needy family members and their strong ties to the impoverished community that they come from. Cam, Reggie and an unforgettable group of characters wrestle with the rewards and pitfalls of stardom, love, and loyalty.
The cast includes Mike Epps, Tichina Arnold, Teyonah Parris, and Erica Ash.
The sophomore season of the half-hour scripted comedy will feature 10 episodes this time – up from its 6-episode first season.
“We are thrilled to renew ‘Survivor’s Remorse’ for a third season,” said Carmi Zlotnik, managing director of Starz. “Since it began, the critics instantly embraced the show, and now we’ve seen its fans grow season over season. This all-star creative team, led expertly by Mike O’Malley, boldly tackles the most topical of issues with heart and humor as the Calloway family deals with ‘pro-money and pro-problems’ off the basketball court. We are very happy and proud to have them return to STARZ for another season.”
