Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated “The Martian,” based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Andy Weir, details the story of a stranded NASA astronaut (Matt Damon) as he struggles to survive on the inhospitable planet long enough to be rescued.
The film promises stunning visions of space, unprecedented set-pieces and breathtaking action sequences, but in this new clip courtesy of Moviefone, viewers get a look inside the control room back on earth. Donald Glover, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kristen Wiig appear as the team of scientists and administrators theorizing a rescue plan for the marooned space MacGyver.
The film is set to premiere tomorrow at TIFF. “The Martian” will hit theaters everywhere October 2. Watch the clip above.
