After her turn as the mysterious and elusive Shasta Fay Hepworth in Paul Thomas Anderson’s woozy adaptation of “Inherent Vice,” it was clear to fans of the film that Katherine Waterston would soon graduate from the small roles she had played in various anonymous indie films in the past decade to more sizable roles in marquee films. Following this summer’s “Queen Of Earth,” and while we wait to see her in her first studio blockbuster role, the trailer for her newest indie effort has arrived online.
Written by, directed by, and starring Tom O’Brien, the romantic-comedy “Manhattan Romance” follows a commercial editor and documentary filmmaker as he attempts to finish his film, a study on relationships, while navigating the relationships in his own life. Waterston co-stars as his best friend whom may be a better fit for him than the unattainable Caitlin FitzGerald. Gaby Hoffman also stars in the film.
“Manhattan Romance” hits limited theaters and iTunes next Friday, October 2nd. Watch the trailer below. [via Life For Films]
