Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated “Bridge of Spies” is exactly one month away from opening in theaters nationwide, and the new trailer suggests the finished product is a surefire prestige picture.
Reuniting with the director for the first time in 11 years, Tom Hanks stars as Brooklyn lawyer James Donovan, who is thrusted into the center of the Cold War after the CIA assigns him the near-impossible task of negotiating the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. The movie is inspired by true events and co-stars Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, Alan Alda, Scott Shepard and Billy Magnussen.
With so much impeccable talent behind and in front of the camera — the movie also boasts the Coen Brothers as screenwriters and Spielberg’s longtime collaborator Janusz Kamiński as cinematographer — “Bridge of Spies” looks to be quite the Oscar power player, and the latest trailer only heightens these claims.
“Bridge of Spies” will open October 16 after world premiering at the New York Film Festival. Watch the new trailer below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
