While we may not be seeing Louis C.K. on screen for a while, that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate his talents as a writer, producer and comedian. The man behind FX comedy tentpole “Louie” is launching a couple of new shows in the coming months: “Better Things,” from “Louie” co-star Pamela Adlon and “Baskets,” from “Between Two Ferns” and “Bored To Death” star Zach Galifianakis.
FX released the first clip from the new comedy Wednesday, and while it may be a bit light on, well, clowns, it’s definitely got Galifianakis’ trademark clowning around. The comedian makes the most of the 20-second spot with some demanding, whiny humor that hits just the right side of empathic. Watch it above.
The official summary reads as follows:
“In a world constrained by corporate interests and the homogenization of society, one man in Bakersfield, California, dares to follow his dream of becoming a professional clown. But after an unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, the only job he can find is with the local rodeo. Baskets follows Chip Baskets’ (Zach Galifianakis) pursuit of his dream, against all odds, to be a respected clown.”
“Baskets” premieres in January 2016 on FX.
