It’s strange to not have a Xavier Dolan film screening at the Toronto Film Festival this year, given that has pretty much been the case for the past half decade. But our consolation prize is this stunning, painted poster for his 2016 film “Juste la fin du monde” (or “Just The End of the World”), which Dolan sent out on social media today.

“Monde” stars Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye and Gaspard Ulliel, and has completed production for a likely 2016 release (Cannes?). Adapted from Jean-Luc Lagarce’s play, the film follows a writer goes back to his hometown, planning on announcing his upcoming death to his family. As resentment soon rewrites the course of the afternoon, fits and feuds unfold, fuelled by loneliness and doubt, while all attempts of empathy are sabotaged by people’s incapacity to listen, and love.
