AFI FEST 2015 Lands 127 Films from 45 Nations, 'Son of Saul' to 'No Home Movie'

Adding World Cinema, Breakthrough, Midnight, Shorts, and Cinema’s Legacy sections to its previously announced slates today, AFI FEST 2015 now totals 127 films from 42 countries, including acclaimed Cannes Holocaust drama and Hungarian Oscar submission Son of Saul” and the late Chantal Akerman‘s final film, “No Home Movie.”

Along with Michael Moore’s new doc “Where to Invade Next,” Chilean miner drama “The 33,” Will Smith vehicle “Concussion,” and opening and closing night selections from Angelina Jolie Pitt and Adam McKay, the fest will feature strong offerings in its New Auteurs and American Independents sections. Other highlights from today’s announcement? Kent Jones’ “Hitchcock/Truffaut,” which expands the famed 1962 conversation between the two iconic directors to filmmakers including David Fincher and Martin Scorsese; 2015 Palme d’Or winner “Dheepan,” from Jacques Audiard; Don Hertzfeldt’s remarkable short “World of Tomorrow“; and many more.
