Celebrating its fifth year, the Jameson First Shot film competition returns with another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring filmmakers. This year, three filmmakers will be selected to adapt their own screenplay into a film that will star actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. The competition is being brought to you by Kevin Spacey and Trigger Street Productions.
The competition aims to discover talented filmmakers from all over the world who want to tell their own stories and give them their first break in the industry. The three talented winners will work alongside producer Dana Brunetti (“House of Cards”) to create their films, which will then premiere in LA, with Gyllenhaal and the rest of the cast and crew in attendance.
“It’s not about where someone is, it’s about where they might get to in 10 years if they’re encouraged, nurtured and guided,” said Kevin Spacey.
Curious what Gyllenhaal will be looking for from the submissions? She recommends, “putting a little bit of your actual self into what you’re doing – good art takes vulnerability.”
The competition is now open to entries. For more information, head to the Jameson First Shot website here.
