In a “True Detective”-like fashion, the dark comedy-crime drama show returns next week with a completely new plot and completely new characters. The brand new series regulars include such well-known actors as Patrick Wilson (“The Conjuring”), Ted Danson (“Cheers”), Jean Smart (“Designing Women”), Kirsten Dunst (“Spider-Man”), and Jesse Plemons (“Battleship”). In addition, a knock-out recurring cast includes such as Jeffrey Donovan (“Burn Notice”), Rachel Keller (“Hollidaysburg”), Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”), Brad Garrett (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), Kieran Culkin (“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”), Bokeem Woodbine (“Ray”), Angus Sampson (“Insidious”), Keir O’Donnell (“American Sniper”), Bruce Campbell (“Army of Darkness”), Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”), Cristin Milioti (“The Wolf of Wall Street”) and Adam Arkin (“Chicago Hope”).
Inspired by the Oscar-winning film written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, in this new season creator Noah Hawley takes the viewers to 1979 Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota. Police officer Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson), a recently returned Vietnam vet, investigates a crime involving a local gang and crime syndicate. He is also assigned to protect Republican presidential candidate Ronald Reagan during his campaign stop in Fargo. What could go wrong? Plenty, as the above behind-the-scenes featurette reveals.
