It’s never too late for love they say, and it’s the story avenue that Michael Showalter explores in the upcoming “Hello, My Name Is Doris.” The mind behind “Wet Hot American Summer,” “The State,” and “Stella,” takes a surprisingly tender tone in his sophomore, feature directorial effort, and the first trailer for the picture has arrived.
Sally Field and “New Girl” star Max Greenfield co-star in the movie that follows the titular Doris, who falls for the hunky, much younger, art director John. With the help of her best friend’s granddaughter, Doris finds out all she can about John, and throws herself into the hip, young Williamsburg lifestyle. Doris follows her heart even if it means she might make a fool of herself.
Picking up an Audience Award at this year’s SXSW Film Festival, “Hello, My Name Is Doris” co-stars Natasha Lyonne, Kumail Nanjiani, Peter Gallagher, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Tyne Daly and Beth Behrs, and will open on March 11, 2016.
