Politicians, performers, journalists and other admirers pay tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a new video called “I Dissent,” in which they explain why it’s important to speak up and pay attention to the political process.
The two-minute video debuted at an event hosted by Samantha Bee to celebrate the Supreme Court justice and the release of Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik’s new book “The Notorious RBG.” Watch the video below.
In other RDG news, “On the Basis of Sex,” the biopic about Ginsburg, will begin shooting early next year. Directed by Marielle Heller (“The Diary of a Teenage Girl”) and starring and produced by Natalie Portman, it will focus on the Supreme Court justice’s early career as a feminist legal crusader. Written by Daniel Stiepleman, the script landed on the 2014 Black List, as well as the inaugural Athena List, the Athena Film Festival’s award for promising screenplays with female leaders or strong women protagonists.
