After the lauded success of “Boardwalk Empire,” Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter are returning to HBO next year for a wild exploration of the 1970’s rock n’ roll scene in New York City. Boasting Mick Jagger as an executive producer and starring an intense Bobby Cannavale in the lead role, the drama looks to be a thrilling mix of sex, drugs and unforgettable energy.
“Vinyl” is a 10-episode series chronicling the life of a ’70s record label president (Cannavale). Faced with the task of keeping his company alive, the character attempts to find the next big group and navigate the troubling waters of the rapidly-changing music industry. The show’s cast also includes Olivia Wilde, Juno Temple and Ray Romano.
“Vinyl” premieres on HBO in January 2016. Watch the new trailer above.
