Watch: Xavier Dolan Directed Video For Adele's "Hello"

It has been four years since Adele‘s 21, and the expectations on the Grammy and Oscar-winning artist (yep, she took home a trophy for her "Skyfall" theme song) are through the roof. Adele isn’t messing with the winning formula as she returns with 25, and the first single "Hello" finds her singing about what she knows best: heartbreak.

The video, directed by Xavier Dolan, finds Adele recovering from a breakup, remembering her lost love, and singing her heart out. The director washes the image in a semi-sepia tone, and spends a lot of time going in on hard close-ups as Adele, wisely realizing that’s where the emotional wallop for the video resides. According to EW, the video was shot using IMAX cameras.

25 will arrive in November. Watch below.
