U.S. distribution rights for action-thriller “Crossing Point” U.S. have been picked up by XLrator Media. Sales rights to the film were represented by Bleiberg Entertainment’s genre division Compound Band, which will also introduce the project to international buyers at the American Film Market next month.
The official synopsis reads: “Michael and Olivia are Americans vacationing in Baja, Mexico when the trip takes a frightening turn. Olivia is kidnapped by a drug lord, who demands that Michael smuggle a bag full of cocaine–stolen from a rival cartel–over the border into the U.S. within 12 hours…or else Olivia will be killed. Suspecting something is awry, a driven Tijuana cop is on the trail of the missing drugs as well, sending them all on a collision course toward a breathtaking finale.”
“With its fantastic international cast, smart filmmaking, and a premise ripped from today’s headlines, ‘Crossing Point’ is a gripping, non-stop thrill ride,” said Barry Gordon, XLrator Media CEO.
The film, directed by Daniel Zirilli, stars Jacob Vargas, Rudy Youngblood, Luke Goss, Tom Sizemore, Paulina Gaitan, María Gabriela de Faría and newcomer Shawn Lock.
“Crossing Point” will be released on XLrator Media’s “Turbo” action label in 2016.
