American music icon Bruce Springsteen has stood the test of time. For the 35th year anniversary of his seminal album, “The River,” Springsteen is teaming with HBO to release a four CD, two Blu-Ray and coffee table book, along with new songs as part of a packaged boxed set.
HBO will also air “The Ties That Bind” on November 27th (the same date as the box set’s release) to help re-chronicle the Boss’ 140 city U.S. and European “The River” tour. At 66, the revered singer/songwriter will give fans a peek at his artistic process, telling director Thom Zimny how he came up with such classics as “Hungry Heart” and “The River.”
This will be HBO’s third Springsteen album documentary, following 2014’s “High Hopes” and 2010’s “The Promise.” Thom Zimny also directed the previous films, with Springsteen serving as Executive Producer.
“The Ties That Bind” will also be available on HBO GO and HBO NOW.
