For those who prefer their binge-viewing to have a true crime bent, Netflix has just announced the new original documentary series “Making a Murderer.” The series follows the story of Steven Avery, a man convicted and later exonerated of a brutal assault. But when his release and threatening lawsuit triggered major criminal justice reform, Avery found himself the prime suspect in a new (and grisly) case.

Directed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, “Making of a Murderer” will be released as a 10-episode run, promising an in-depth look at “allegations of police and prosecutorial misconduct, evidence tampering and witness coercion.”
Netflix will unveil the first two episodes at the DOC NYC film festival on Friday, November 13. The full season will be released on Netflix December 18.
