On Wednesday, December 2 at 4:00pm eastern time, Tugg will be hosting a Google Hangout with marketing, engagement and distribution professionals to help filmmakers make the most out of spreading their films in theaters. Entitled “#ScreenBig,” the event will breakdown the role of the Producer of Marketing and Development (PMD), or impact producer, explore how they can help position a film for success, and provide best practices for filmmakers to partner with them.
“#ScreenBig” will be moderated by Felicia Pride, Director of Independent Film at Tugg. Jon Reiss, named one of “10 Digital Directors to Watch” by Daily Variety, is a critically acclaimed filmmaker whose experience releasing his documentary feature, “Bomb It” was the inspiration for writing “Think Outside the Box Office: The Ultimate Guide to Film Distribution in the Digital Era,” the first step-by-step guide for filmmakers to distribute and market their films. Two years ago he co-wrote “Selling Your Film Without Selling Your Soul” and last year co-wrote “Selling Your Film in Europe.” Reiss is also a media strategist who helps filmmakers and companies navigate the new distribution and marketing landscape.
Jo Jensen brings 10 years of digital marketing and grassroots experience to achieve results as the Impact Producer for documentary films. A few of the successful documentary campaigns Jensen has worked on with Tugg include “Honor Flight,” “Blood Brother,” “SlingShot” and “Poverty Inc.” Jensen previously served as the Marketing Director of the film production company, Freethink, where she developed engagement strategies that resulted in breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest film screening in history with a turnout of 28,442 people at the movie premiere of “Honor Flight.”
