Liam Neeson‘s growl can deliver serious gravitas, as we already know. But it will also be the voice of the central creature in the upcoming “A Monster Calls,” the new film from Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Impossible,” “The Orphanage“) which is his biggest effort yet.
Also starring Lewis MacDougall, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, and Sigourney Weaver, the film is an adaptation of the book by Patrick Ness which chronicles a troubled 12 year-old who finds an escape in the world of fantasy. Here’s the official synopsis:
A visually spectacular drama from acclaimed director Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Impossible”), based on the award-winning children’s fantasy novel. 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.
