Once upon a time, there were the Dark Ages (cough, Donald Trump). They were mercifully followed by the dawn of a new, mercantile age (Elizabeth Banks). And then, the McConaissance arrived, bringing new intellectual and artistic thought that lasted long past the cleverness of that name. All of which is to say, Matthew McConaughey is hosting “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.
14 years after his last hosting stint, McConaughey is returning to “SNL,” and the rusty vet is nervous. In a series of promos, not only does McConaughey resort to calling and pleading for individual fans to watch (two so far!), but he even lets Kate McKinnon dupe him into a way to “center himself” that looks awfully familiar to any humming, chest-bumping fan of “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
McConaughey will be accompanied by Adele as the musical guest this Saturday, November 21. Check out the promos above.
