Well, still no word of his untitled Austin music scene movie, or his documentary “Voyage Of Time,” but Terrence Malick‘s “Knight Of Cups” is finally coming stateside after premiering earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival. And now, a new U.S. trailer has landed.
Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and Natalie Portman are the leads in this movie (which yes, features appearances by many more familiar faces) about existential woes, but this time, it’s set against the hedonistic backdrop of Hollywood. The final result isn’t quite as majestic as Malick’s best works, with Jessica Kiang writing, “the film was for me, just limbo: neither here nor there, neither great nor terrible, just an eternal dance of recollections in which nothing is answered, nothing concludes, and no one grows anything but older and more aware of the impossibility of holding on to all the fragments of time they rented throughout their lives.”
“Knight Of Cups” opens on March 4, 2016. Watch below.
