This holiday season, if you’re tired of standard good cheer, Hollywood has a couple of left turns waiting for you. Next month, you can go down the horror route with “Krampus,” or just in time for Thanksgiving, the team behind “This Is The End” and “50/50” are going to get things started with “The Night Before,” a raunchy take on all things Christmas.
Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt reunite with “50/50” director Jonathan Levine, and bring Anthony Mackie to round out the lead trio, in this tale of childhood pals who say goodbye to their yearly holiday hang with one final blowout. Things get very real, very fast with pills, pot, strip clubs, and more part of the festivities. Here’s the official synopsis:
Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) have been friends since childhood, and for a decade, their yearly Christmas Eve reunion has been an annual night of debauchery and hilarity. Now that they’re entering adulthood, the tradition is coming to an end, and to make it as memorable as possible, they set out to find the Nutcracka Ball – the Holy Grail of Christmas parties.
