Less than a half hour after Mattel put their Ava DuVernay Barbie on sale, the item was completely sold out. The award-winning filmmaker of the Oscar-nominated “Selma” has her likeness now preserved in doll form for every young girl or boy who dreams of being a director some day.

DuVernay took to Twitter to express her surprise that her own Barbie had sold out on both Matttel’s own website and over on Amazon. The filmmaker also pointed out that all proceeds from the sale of the doll will be going directly to the charity Color of Change, which helps support black activism in American politics.

As of now, there’s no further news on another shipment of the Barbies, but given the almost instantaneous sellout, it wouldn’t be surprising if there were more released in time to get the young (or old) aspiring filmmakers in your life a truly awesome Christmas present.
