John Michael McDonagh’s ‘War On Everyone,’ Rebecca Miller's 'Maggie's Plan,' And More Added To Berlin Film Festival

It’s beginning to look a lot like festival season. Just when you thought you were out of the clutches of the Venice/Telluride/TIFF/New York autumn car crash, January and February are coming with the Sundance and Berlin Film Festival, respectively. And the latter has just added a batch of new titles to the slate, as part of their Panorama program.

The most notable is the World Premiere of John Michael McDonagh’s “War On Everyone” starring Michael Pena and Alexander Skarsgard, about two crooked cops who blackmail everyone they can, until one criminal proves to be more difficult to handle than they anticipated. It’s definitely high on our must-see list for next year, so we’re glad it’s arriving early. Also very much worth paying attention is to Rebecca Miller‘s “Maggie’s Plan” starring Greta Gerwig and Ethan Hawke, which I think deserved way more love out of TIFF (read our review). Meanwhile, the Teddy section, which highlights LGBTIQ film, has programmed a thirtieth anniversary slate of movies.

Check out the full slate below. The Berlin Film Festival runs from February 11-21, 2016.
