The upcoming drama “Jackie,” which follows the revered First Lady in the days after JFK’s assassination, has quite the triumvirate of talent behind it, thanks to Oscar-winning star Natalie Portman, producer Darren Aronofsky (who directed Portman to her countless “Black Swam” accolades) and director Pablo Larraín.
The Chilean filmmaker has been a festival favorite with acclaimed dramas such as “No” and “The Club,” and this upcoming project should be his most accessible film yet domestically, given its subject matter and star.
LD Entertainment, which Deadline reported earlier was coming aboard the film to finance and produce it, has released the first look at Portman in character, and it’s quite the stunner. Given that the film is operating in biopic territory, it’s safe to say Portman will be in the Oscar conversation come next year. The film is currently in production in Paris. No release date has been set. Check out the first look above.
