No surprise that John Waters included “The Diary of a Teenage Girl” on his—he was on the jury that awarded Best Actress at the Gothams to breakout star Bel Powley. Also no surprise, perhaps, is Cahiers du Cinema dismissing consensus (as usual) to select Nanni Moretti’s “Mia Madre” as the best film of the year. Love the choices? Hate them?
