Much is known about Walt Disney, the creator of the omnipotent Disney brand that has begat countless films and become a veritable force of nature in the years since its inception. And though its storied founder is a legend in his own right, much less is known about his early years, before the creation of his iconic Mickey Mouse.
Coming just in time for the creative maverick’s birthday, the biopic “Walt Before Mickey” chronicles Walt Disney’s early years that led to the creation of the Mickey Mouse character. Based on a book of the same name by Timothy S. Susanin, “Walt Before Mickey” stars Thomas Ian Nicholas, John Heder and Jodie Sweetin and was helmed by first-time feature director Khoa Le. The film was written by writer/producer Armando Gutierrez.
In this exclusive clip from the film, we get a glimpse of the mouse that may have provided the basis for Disney’s creation of the beloved Mickey, as well as a taste of the depths from which Disney rose. “Walt Before Mickey” was recently acquired by Vision Films for a December 5 DVD/VOD release date.
