Though the second season of Netflix’s “Marco Polo” is still forthcoming, it won’t be too long before viewers can return to Kublai Kahn’s 13th century China. A new standalone special following the origin story of Marco Polo’s mentor One Hundred Eyes, simply titled “Marco Polo: One Hundred Eyes,” will tell the story of the man behind the calm and collected exterior.
A blind monk under service to Kublai Kahn, One Hundred Eyes served as trainer and friend to Marco Polo during the course of the series, and is known equally for his penchant for poetic platitudes and his superior fighting skills.
The announcement comes today, in the midst of the show’s Season 2 preparation. The special will feature much of the same cast and crew, with John Fusco back to direct. The special will premiere on December 26. Watch the revealing featurette above.
